Yavapai Apache Cultural Resource Center Rendering
The Yavapai/Apache Cultural Center (above, right, and below) was built to provide a place for the native peoples of the Verde Valley in Arizona to preserve and transmit their heritage. Its form took shape from their creation story, which tells of the people arising from the waters of Montezuma's Well into the world. Yavapai Apache Cultural Resource Center aerial view
At theYavapai Prescott Cultural Center (below), history was incorporated into the design of the facility with basket motifs used in the amphitheater, and references to the nomadic lifestyles of the Yavapai found in the museum through the elective use of form and material.
